Cannabidiol Oil FAQ

What Is CBD?

CBD is the primary active chemical found in Hemp. Also called, Cannabidiol, it’s just one of over 120 different Hemp compounds being studied for their potential therapeutic benefits.

Known as cannabinoids, CBD and other compounds are mainly produced within the mature flowers of female hemp plants. As they mature, the Hemp Flowers produce a sticky cannabinoid-rich resin.

After harvest, CBD-rich Hemp Flower can be used in its raw form or refined and concentrated to make Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract, which is used to manufacture CBD oil and other products such as CBD topicals, gummies, and vape oils.

The Hemp plant naturally produces a Full-Spectrum of cannabinoid compounds including CBD, secondary cannabinoids, and vital aromatic compounds, called Terpenes.

All of the compounds found in the Hemp plant work synergistically, creating what’s called the entourage effect, a phenomenon in which the beneficial properties of CBD are enhanced by the presence of secondary cannabinoids and terpenes.

What Are The Effects Of CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, has naturally calming properties that encourage relaxation and boost mood. Full Spectrum Hemp Extract is rich in cannabidiol, which has no psychoactive, hallucinogenic or euphoric properties.

Cannabidiol is a non-toxic substance, which means you cannot overdose. It has an incredibly high safety profile and is well tolerated by most people. The most severe side effects of CBD reported are sedation, dizziness, and lowered blood pressure.

A growing body of scientific evidence and anecdotal reports by people taking CBD shows incredible health benefits and therapeutic potential for cannabidiol in a number of different conditions.

CBD is considered as an anti-psychotic substance and is being extensively investigated for its anti-anxiety and antidepressant effects.

Is CBD Legal In Europe?

In 2003, CBD was patented as a neuroprotectant and antioxidant in the US and has since been approved for use in several CBD-rich Hemp Oil-based prescription medicines in the EU and abroad.

Hemp is a species of the cannabis plant that is characterized by having high concentrations of CBD and low levels of THC. CBD-rich Hemp contains less than 0.2% THC content and therefore legal under EU Hemp regulations.

Both CBD-Rich Hemp and Medical Cannabis are legal in several European countries including Italy, Spain, Romania, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, and The Netherlands.

There are no restrictions on CBD within the UK and cannabidiol is not considered a controlled substance, allowing it to be distributed legally. However, there are limits on THC content and cannabis in both the EU and UK.

Species of cannabis that contain more than 0.2% average THC content are classified as medical cannabis, which is only legally available by prescription in EU countries that have approved the use of medical cannabis.

Marijuana and THC content above 0.2% are considered illegal to various degrees in most of the UK and EU under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Throughout the EU, including the UK, the cultivation of CBD-rich Hemp is legal as long as it contains less than 0.2% THC content. However, each country has its own unique approach to regulating CBD-rich Hemp and medical cannabis.

For example, in Switzerland cultivating and deriving CBD from cannabis are legal provided that the flower and its derivatives contains less than 1%THC. In Luxembourg, medical cannabis is widely permitted, but with THC content limited to 0.3%.

Always check local laws and regulations on CBD-rich hemp in your area to fully comprehend your right to purchase and consume CBD.
